Do you enjoy working with technology and want to do more than just build machines? At SeQso, you’ll work on innovative mechanical engineering projects, from assembly and testing to commissioning and on-site customer support. You’ll be given a lot of responsibility, a varied role and the opportunity to develop your technical skills further. Ready to put your expertise to work on challenging projects? Then read on.

About Demcon

SeQso develops and manufactures sorting and sowing machines for seed breeders in Europe, Asia and the Americas. As part of Demcon, SeQso has all the expertise required to make its machines more precise, faster and smarter. We develop new solutions for further automation in seed breeding within our own product portfolio. In this way, we contribute to food security, which is under pressure worldwide due to population growth and climate change.

What are you going to do?

As an Assembly & Service Engineer, you’ll be involved from the construction phase right through to after handover to the customer. You’ll ensure that machines are assembled and tested in accordance with specifications and that they operate without any issues.

Once the machinery is up and running, you are often one of the first points of contact when technical queries or faults arise. You analyse the cause, liaise with colleagues from various disciplines and ensure a sustainable solution is found. In doing so, you work closely with customers and support them where necessary in making the best use of the machinery.As you are involved early on in the development process, you will gain a deep understanding of the systems you work with. This enables you not only to resolve faults but also to identify areas for improvement and contribute to future developments.

Your duties will include:

  • Assembling and testing machines and production lines;
  • Providing support during FAT and SAT processes;
  • Commissioning installations on site, both nationally and internationally;
  • Analysing and resolving technical faults;
  • Maintaining contact with customers and suppliers;
  • Collaborating with engineers, software developers and project teams to resolve technical issues.

What do you bring to the table?

You have a practical mindset, are curious about technology and enjoy getting to the bottom of problems. You switch easily between tasks in the workshop, on site and in consultation with clients or colleagues.

In addition, you have:

  • A completed higher professional education (HBO) degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation or a similar discipline;
  • An affinity for mechanical engineering, production technology and automation;
  • A broad technical interest and the motivation to continuously develop your skills;
  • Good communication skills in both Dutch and English;
  • A willingness to travel regularly to work at clients’ premises. Occasionally internationally;
  • An independent and proactive approach to work.

Do you also have experience with industrial control systems, PLC technology, robotics, motion control or machine safety? If so, that’s a bonus, but not a requirement.

What do we offer you?

At Demcon, you’ll be working on technology that makes a real difference. In a relaxed organisation that encourages initiative and fosters a positive working relationship with motivated colleagues, you’ll help build solutions for both today and tomorrow. We genuinely care about you as a person and encourage job satisfaction and a healthy work-life balance.

You can also count on the following, amongst other things:

  • A competitive salary between €42 000,- and €66 000,- per year (excluding 8% holiday pay), depending on your experience;
  • 8% holiday pay, with the option to have this paid out in May or monthly with your salary;
  • 25 vacation days and 6 ATV days based on full-time employment and an option to purchase additional vacation days;
  • Partial remote working arrangement: up to 2 days per week for full-time employees, always in consultation with your manager;
  • Training courses and programmes via the Demcon Academy for your personal and professional development;
  • A good pension scheme with Zwitserleven;
  • Bicycle scheme/bicycle lease scheme;
  • Vitality program including fun sports clinics, fresh fruit, workshops and a workplace health check;
