Our business unit Demcon Industrial Systems (DIS) develops and delivers a wide variety of projects for the market of complex machinery and equipment. Projects range from partial developments and proof-of-concept setups to complete machines and end-to-end system solutions for customers across different industries. Many of our projects are at the intersection of machine control, machine vision, data science, and artificial intelligence.

For our location in Groningen, we are looking for a versatile, enthusiastic, and experienced senior software engineer.

As a senior software engineer, you are the technical lead within the software domain. Together with systems engineers, you define the software architecture, component selection, and technical standards for our machine control systems. You translate customer specifications into robust, maintainable, and scalable software solutions.

To achieve this, you make use of BRIX, our standardized machine control platform based on TwinCAT 3 (Structured Text) and Beckhoff hardware. You work within a multidisciplinary team, collaborating closely with colleagues from various engineering disciplines. You bring structure to software solutions, safeguard software quality, and provide technical guidance to other Software Engineers when needed. In addition, you are involved in testing, integration, and commissioning of machine control systems.

You act as a coach and sparring partner for both fellow engineers and customers. Drawing on your experience, you help substantiate technical decisions, identify risks at an early stage, and elevate projects to a higher level of quality and performance.
