What are you going to do?
As a Life Cycle System Engineer you, and your team, are responsible for managing and optimizing the systems and production tools which are developed by our Development Engineers from their release to the end of their lifetime. These are complex mechatronic systems of which just one or a few are made.
- You have ownership of multiple systems and/or production tools. You are also responsible for keeping these up and running, and for designing and implementing improvements to these systems. You do this in collaboration with our Service Engineers and 2nd line Life Cycle Engineers from your team. Changes and improvements could be:
- Implementing new functionalities to the existing design based on customer requests.
- Improvements of the design to solve and prevent incidental and structural design issues.
- Improvements of the design to improve efficiency and reliability during production and service.
- Resolve supplier problems with our Purchasing department.
- Changes to the design due to parts or subsystems that are outdated and therefore no longer available or maintainable.
- You work in close collaboration with your team and the customer, where you offer 1st line support for complex technical problems. You discuss with the customer on implementing new improvements and their priorities, and are available to solve issues at the customer sites.
- You pro-actively identify and tackle incidental and structural issues. You gather and analyze data and feedback from the customer that you use to implement changes on the system or on the way of working of your team.
- You are involved in assessing new systems for release and their introduction in preparation for their transfer from Development to Life Cycle.
- You collaborate on redesign projects on existing systems, or support Development Engineers herein.
- You document new functionalities and improvements on the systems, and work on knowledge retention within your team.
- You visit the customer on site to analyze issues and test improvements or new products.
- You manage Spare Parts and analyze end-of-life issues in the current systems.
What do you bring to the table?
- You have a Bachelors in, Mechatronics, Electronics or similar.
- You have, at minimum, 1 year of experience in a function wherein engineering or troubleshooting was central.
- You are proficient in coordinating and collaboration, and enjoy discussing complex topics with customers and colleagues.
- You are analytical and pragmatic. You are able to analyze complex technical problems, but also enjoy working hands-on with mechatronic systems.
- You are flexible and are able to quickly adjust your planning during your workday.
